Men’s Volleyball Sweeps Emerson, 3-0

BOSTON, Mass. — The Endicott men's volleyball team defeated Emerson, 3-0, by scores of 25-23, 25-23, and 25-20 in non-conference action on Thursday night at Brown & Plofker Gym.

Rafa Robert (San Juan, Puerto Rico) led the Gulls with a match-high 12 kills on 20 swings (.400).

Nikolas Kasprzak (Windham, N.H.) also contributed seven kills, while Ian Smith (Elk Grove, Calif.) notched six kills to highlight the rest of the attack. 

Meanwhile, Gabe DeBenedetto (Rockford, Ill.) and Gavin Emenaker (Newton, Mass.) split duties running the offense behind 23 and 12 assists, respectively.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • The Gulls are 7-1 all-time against Emerson (3-0 on the road).
  • Smith went a perfect 14-for-14 on serve-receive, while Robert was 19-for-20 (.950, 10 receptions led to kills).
  • Robert owned the second set behind a stat line of 7-3-13 (K-E-TA) alongside one service ace, two digs, and a block assist.
  • Endicott is 4-2 on the road this season.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (7-3) hosts Elmira (12 PM) and No. 1 Springfield (4 PM) in a tri-match this Saturday. Emerson (2-11) hosts Concordia-Wisconsin on Tuesday, March 15 at 6 PM.
