SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Endicott men's volleyball team swept American International College (AIC), 3-0, by scores of 25-14, 25-11, and 25-22 on Saturday afternoon at Henry A. Butova Gymnasium.
Ian Smith (Elk Grove, Calif.) led the attack with a match-high nine kills.
The Gulls also saw Spencer Capps (Lake Bluff, Ill.), Nikolas Kasprzak (Windham, N.H.), and Rafa Robert (San Juan, Puerto Rico) all contribute five or more kills (7-6-5), respectively.
Meanwhile, Gabe DeBenedetto (Rockford, Ill.) facilitated the majority of the attack with a match-high 10 assists (.556).
Today's match only featured one lead change and just six ties.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Capps registered a career-high in kills.
- The Gulls are 2-0 all-time against AIC.
- Brian Wightman (Las Vegas, Nev.) had six of his 15 receptions (.400) turn into kills.
- Endicott limited the Yellow Jackets to a .100 hitting percentage or lower in every set (.077, -.100, .100).
WHAT'S NEXT
Endicott (2-0) travels to Emmanuel on Wednesday, January 26 at 7 PM. AIC (0-3) hosts Lasell (5 PM) and Emmanuel (Ga., 7 PM) as part of the Yellow Jacket Invite next Friday.
