No. 1 Springfield Sweeps Men’s Volleyball, 3-0

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — The Endicott men's volleyball team fell to No. 1 nationally ranked Springfield, 3-0, by scores of 25-17, 25-16, and 25-18 on Saturday night in the International Volleyball Hall of Fame Morgan Classic Championship.

Spencer Capps (Lake Bluff, Ill.) led the Gulls with a team-high six kills.

Endicott also saw Rafa Robert (San Juan, Puerto Rico) and Ian Smith (Elk Grove, Calif.) compile five kills apiece in the match.

Nikolas Kasprzak (Windham, N.H.) rounded out the list of highlights with three kills, one block solo, and two block assists.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Kasprzak and Robert were named to the All-Tournament Team.
  • Endicott defeated No. 4 New York University (NYU), 3-1, last night to advance to tonight's championship match. 
  • Springfield is 3-0 at home this season.
  • The Pride snapped Endicott's four-match winning streak.
  • Springfield notched its second-highest hitting percentage on the year (.419).

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (4-1) travels to Lasell on Thursday, February 10 at 7 PM. No. 1 Springfield (7-0) hosts Nichols next Thursday at 7 PM.
