NCAA TOURNAMENT: No. 4 Stevens Sweeps Men’s Volleyball, 3-0

HOBOKEN, N.J. — The Endicott men's volleyball team fell to No. 4 nationally ranked Stevens, 3-0, by scores of 28-26, 25-13, and 25-20 on Friday night at Canavan Arena.

Nikolas Kasprzak (Windham, N.H.) led the Gulls with 11 kills on 15 swings (.667), one service aces, and three block assists.

Rafa Robert (San Juan, Puerto Rico) compiled eight kills, while Spencer Capps (Lake Bluff, Ill.) notched six.

Gavin Emenaker (Newton, Mass.) ran the attack behind a 28-assist effort.

He also recorded three block assists, joining Brady Mullens (Aurora, Colo.) and Ian Smith (Elk Grove, Calif.) on the defensive with multiple block assists on the night (Mullens - 3 K, 4 BA | Smith- 4 K, 3 BA).

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • The Ducks are 16-0 at home this season.
  • Stevens extended its winning streak to 18 straight matches with tonight's victory.
  • The contest featured 15 ties and seven lead changes (S1: 9-3 | S2: 0-0 | S3: 6-4).
  • Endicott trailed 24-22 in set one but forced three separate ties (24-24, 25-25, 26-26) before dropping the opening frame, 28-26.
  • Tonight's match marked the eighth appearance in the NCAA Tournament for both programs, second only behind No. 1 Springfield among this year's field.

WHAT'S NEXT

No. 4 Stevens (29-3) will play St. Joseph's (L.I.) in the NCAA Tournament quarterfinal round tomorrow at 6 PM. Endicott sees its 2022 season come to a close at 18-7 overall.
