Five Gulls honored as NECVA All-New England
Beverly, Mass. – Senior outside hitter Zeke Kubisch (Bethlehem, N.Y.) and junior libero Andrew Slocum (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) highlighted a group of five Endicott men’s volleyball players honored by NECVA with All-New England Division status for the first time in their collegiate careers.

Kubisch and Slocum were both named to the NECVA All-New England Division First Team for a Gulls squad that posted a 14-2 record in divisional play. That record was good for second place in the division and a spot in the NECVA Tournament.

Kubisch posted a career-high in kills (249), hit percentage (.229), and digs (119). The senior had double digit kills eight times in 33 matches played. Slocum was Endicott’s best passer in 2011 after recording career-highs in digs (265), digs per set (2.30), and reception percentage (.969).

Sophomore Matt Devendorf (Glastonbury, Conn.), junior Jeremy Siden (Natick, Mass.) and freshman Travis Netherton (Waukegan, Ill.) were all named to the NECVA All-New England Division Second Team.

Devendorf, in just his second season, tallied 244 kills with .236 hit percentage and at the net defensively was strong with 71.0 total blocks. Siden was Endicott’s leading attacker with a team and career-high 301 kills. The junior was strong defensively with 141 digs and was a factor in the blocking game with 49.0 stops. Netherton, in his first season in the Blue and Green, had an outstanding season with 225 kills, a .326 hit percentage, and 114.0 blocks.
