Gulls improve to 13-9 with straight set win over New Haven

West Haven, Conn. – Eight different Endicott men’s volleyball players recorded kills in a 3-0 (25-12, 25-18, 25-17) triumph over the University of New Haven on Wednesday evening. The Gulls improved to 13-9 and have now won seven of their last eight matches.

In a non-division NECVA match, the Blue and Green sported a .306 hit percentage as a team with junior Jeremy Siden (Natick, Mass.) adding to his team-leading kill total with six more swings. Fellow junior Joshua Bruno (Andover, Mass.) and sophomore Matt Devendorf (Glastonbury, Conn.) tied for second on the team with five kills against New Haven.

Freshmen Josh Anderson (La Canada, Calif.) and Travis Netherton (Waukegan, Ill.) each chipped in with four kills each. Anderson added four digs while Netherton had two assisted blocks at the net.
Endicott’s libero Andrew Slocum (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) led all players with eight digs and setter Jeremy Schlosser (Emmaus, Pa.) bested his counterpart with 28 set assists.

The Chargers were led by Brian Parmelee (Westport, Conn.) and Ben Hollies (Seattle, Wash.) who each had eight kills. Ryan Earl (Greenville, N.Y.) tallied 27 assists while Xavier Atienzar (Monroe, Conn.) had a team-high seven digs.

Endicott moves on to the MIT Invitation from March 4th-5th where they will face Lasell, Mount Ida, Emmanuel and Emerson. The action starts Friday night at 5:00 pm.
