Beverly, Mass. –
In a Saturday night non-conference showdown with Sage College, the Endicott men’s volleyball team won in straight sets 3-0 (25-15, 25-13, 27-25) to improve to 5-3 overall.

Junior outside hitter Jeremy Siden (Natick, Mass.) paced the Gulls starters with 13 kills while the third set featured several Endicott bench players making significant contributions. Those included newcomers Brennan Lowe (Malibu, Calif.) with seven kills and Carter Roche (Clifton Park, N.Y.) with 13 set assists.

For the Gators, freshman opposite Ryan Wilkins (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) was near perfect with nine kills and only one error for a match-high .571 hit percentage. Setter Kyle Ray (Horseheads, N.Y.) dished out 18 assists while middle hitter Spencer Hilland (Slingerlands, N.Y.) anticipated the opposing attack with three solo and two assisted blocks.

Endicott’s Travis Netherton (Waukegan, Ill.) also did his part on defense with one solo block and five assisted stops. Both teams had 8.0 team blocks.

The Blue and Green handled the first two sets in convincing fashion, but the third set saw the visiting Gators hold set-point before the Gulls rallied to tie and eventually win the set and match.

Endicott (5-3, 3-0 NECVA NE) move on to face the MIT Engineers in Cambridge on Tuesday, February 8th at 7:00 pm. Sage will host Skyline Conference rival Bard on Wednesday, February 9th in a 7:00 pm match.
