Endicott claim two wins on day one of the MIT Invitational
Cambridge, Mass. – On day one of the MIT Invitational, the Endicott men’s volleyball earned a five-set victory over Lasell College followed by a 3-1 win over Mount Ida College. The Gulls, who upped their win-streak to five in-a-row, will next face Emmanuel College and Emerson College on Saturday at the duPont Athletic Center.

Junior setter Jeremy Schlosser (Emmaus, Pa.) had a season-high 52 set assists in a five-set Endicott victory over Lasell College in the first match of day one of the MIT Invitational. Schlosser connected with six different Endicott attackers, including four that reached double-digit kills.

Outside hitter Jeremy Siden (Natick, Mass.) led the Blue and Green with 16 kills with Zeke Kubisch (Bethlehem, N.Y.) and Matt Devendorf (Glastonbury, Conn.) each adding 12 kills each. Junior middle Joshua Bruno (Andover, Mass.), who also tied Devendorf with four assisted blocks and one solo block, put in an errorless offensive effort with 10 kills on 17 attempts. Freshman Travis Netherton (Waukegan, Ill.) had nine kills with just one error in the win. The Gulls finished with a .311 hit percentage as a team.

Libero Andrew Slocum (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) had a team-high 11 digs with Kubisch, Siden and David Olson (Chelmsford, Mass.) adding 10, nine and six digs respectively.

In the second match of the day for the Gulls, sophomore outside hitter Kevin Duggan (Glastonbury, Conn.) and freshman Brennan Lowe (Malibu, Calif.) combined for 20 kills with just three errors in a 3-1 win over Mount Ida. Their effort fueled an Endicott offensive effort that accumulated a .361 hit percentage as a team.

A trio of freshman including Josh Anderson (La Canada, Calif.), Mike Coniglione (Glenville, N.Y.) and Travis Netherton chipped in with nine, eight, and six kills each.

Setters Carter Roche (Clifton Park, N.Y.) and Jeremy Schlosser combined for 41 assists with Roche leading the charge with 26.

Defensively, Coniglione and Anderson each had five assisted blocks and Joshua Bruno added four more as part of a 11.5 team blocking night for the Gulls.

Endicott is scheduled to face Emmanuel at 10:30 tomorrow morning followed by Emerson at 3:00 pm.
