Endicott (2-2, 1-0 NECVA NE) jumped out to an 8-0 lead over Lesley (0-3, 0-3 NECVA NE) in the first set of the match thanks to a strong serves by senior Zeke Kubisch (Bethlehem, N.Y.). Kubisch tallied three aces in the opening run and added a kill to give the home team an early lead. The captain finished with four finishing swings in the match. Up 16-4, the Blue and Green pulled off a 9-0 run to close out the opening set which featured four aces and a kill by junior Jeremy Siden (Natick, Mass.).

The second set was a different story as Lesley took eight of the first 11 points looking to even the score. The Gulls did their part to help the Lynx with five attack errors and two service errors, but Endicott climbed back into the set and eventually regained the lead at 13-12.  Lesley fought back to take a 20-19 advantage following a Tyler Reeves (Coventry, Conn.) kill, but Endicott scored six of the next eight points to claim a 25-22 set win.

The final set saw Endicott middle blockers Joshua Bruno (Andover, Mass.) and Mike Coniglione (Glenville, N.Y.) provide offensive spark off the bench as they each tallied three kills in the third set. After giving up two aces to Lesley’s Reeves and a kill to middle hitter Zachary Almeida-Beers (Rehoboth, Mass.), giving the Lynx a 7-6 lead, Endicott responded by taking nine of the next 10 points. The Gulls would not relinquish the newly found lead, winning 25-14 to take the straight set 3-0 win.

Endicott’s junior setter Jeremy Schlosser (Emmaus, Pa.) dished out 20 assists in two sets of play before giving way to freshman Carter Roche (Clifton Park, N.Y.) who tacked on eight more. Defensively, Andrew Slocum (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) recorded a match-high eight digs and Schlosser added six. The Gulls blocked five attacks as a team.
