Gulls drop third-straight match, fall to Colby-Sawyer

NEW LONDON, N.H. - The Colby-Sawyer men's tennis team downed Endicott College 6-3 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) men's tennis action Tuesday afternoon. The win improves the Chargers to 9-6 overall, 5-2 in TCCC play while the Gulls drop to 10-5, 5-3 in TCCC play.

Colby-Sawyer started out strong, winning at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles as Justin Tardif (Biddeford, Maine), Ben Taylor (Derry, N.H.), Trevor Davis (Bath, Maine) and Evan Campbell (White River Junction, Vt.) all tallied victories for the Chargers. Endicott's Dan Murray (Coventry, R.I.) and Josh Schoen (Phoenix, Ariz.) were winners at No. 1 doubles.

In singles, Campbell and Ryan Murray (Killingworth, Conn.) each added 6-0, 6-0 victories and Taylor and Bryan Racz (Stratton, Vt.) added victories of their own to spur the Chargers to victory.

Murray and Schoen each tallied singles victories for Endicott, accounting for all of the visitor's points on the day.

Colby-Sawyer returns to action on Wednesday, April 16 when they host Western New England in a rescheduled match (3:30 p.m.). Endicott closes out their regular-season on Thursday, April 17 when they host Gordon College at 3:30 p.m. in Beverly, Mass.
