BEVERLY, Mass. - Despite taking two of the three doubles matches, Endicott College dropped its second-straight The Commonwealth Coast Conference contest, falling to Roger Williams University, 5-4, on Sunday afternoon on the South Campus Courts in Beverly, Massachusetts. The loss drops the Gulls to 10-4 overall and 5-2 in TCCC play.

Josh Schoen and Dan Murray opened doubles competition with an 8-2 win over Brad Bolte (Augusta, N.J.) and Dan Roberts (Milford, Conn.). The Hawks responded with a win in the No. 2 doubles, as Kyle Baker (Bolton, Conn.) and teammate Dan Kleitz (Wethersfield, Conn.) took a decision over Gabriel Moraga (Marlborough, Conn.) and Devon Locke (St. Croix, Virgin Islands), 8-3. Scott Teller (Granville, N.Y.) and Marc Maloney (Feeding Hills, Mass.) closed out doubles play with an 8-4 win over Ryan Fayed (Glastonbury, Conn.) and Jeff Agonia (Lincoln, R.I).

In the singles matches, Brad Bolte scored the visitors a, 6-4, 7-5, win as he took down Dan Murray in the No. 1 hole to even the score. Josh Schoen fired back as he cruised past Dan Roberts, 6-3, 6-1. Gabriel Moraga fell to Ryan Fayed by the scores of 6-2, 6-2; while Scott Teller couldn't find an answer for Dan Kleitz, dropping the decision, 6-3, 6-2. Marc Maloney evened the score at 4-all as he won a thrilling, 6-3, 1-6, 6-4, match over Brian Kennedy (Cheshire, Conn.), making the result of the Devon Locke versus Kyle Baker contest decide the outcome of the match. Despite Locke's best effort, Baker was able to log a come-from-behind win, downing the Endicott freshman, 6-1, 5-7, 6-4.

The win improves Roger Williams to 9-7 overall and 5-2 in conference play. The Gulls will return to action on Tuesday as they travel to Colby-Sawyer at 3:30 p.m. Roger Williams retakes the court on the same day, as the Hawks fly to Quincy, Mass. to meet Eastern Nazarene.
