Men's tennis sweeps Saint Anselm

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Endicott College rebounded from a season opening loss to MIT by sweeping its way past Saint Anselm, 9-0, on Wednesday afternoon in Manchester, New Hampshire. With the win, Endicott improves to 1-1 (0-0 TCCC), while the Hawks fall to 0-3.

The Gulls got the match started as Josh Schoen (Phoenix, Ariz.) and Dan Murray (Coventry, R.I.) downed Ryan Garrette (Conway, N.H.) and John Oberlander (Beverly, Mass.), 8-1, in doubles action. Gabriel Moraga (Marlborough, Conn) and Devon Locke (St. Croix, Virgin Islands) won a thrilling, 9-8, doubles match while Marc Maloney (Feeding Hills, Mass.) and Scott Teller (Granville, N.Y.) won handedly, 8-2.

In the singles action, Endicott swept its way through the Hawks' line-up as Dan Murray won 6-1, 6-4 in the No. 1 spot. Schoen and Locke served-up wins in the three and four hole, while Teller, Maloney and Moraga also walked away with wins for the Blue and Green.

The hawks return to action on Saturday as they travel to Pace to take on the Setters at 11:00 a.m. Endicott retakes the court on Sunday afternoon as the Gulls fly south to meet Florida Tech in Melbourne, Florida.
