CCC MEN'S SOCCER PRESEASON COACHES' POLL RELEASE
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) office announced its preseason coaches' poll on Monday and the Endicott men's soccer team earned the top spot.
The Gulls were regular season champions during the 2016 season, posting a 12-5-3 overall record and an 8-1 conference record. They narrowly missed the tournament championship game when they fell to Western New England in penalty kicks in the semifinal round. Endicott was awarded a total of 96 points in the poll, with six first place votes.
Wentworth took the second slot with 90 points and three first place votes, while Gordon was awarded 77 points for third place.
Western New England, the defending CCC Champions, tallied a total of 70 points with one first place vote to round out the top four selections.
Roger Williams and Nichols took the No. 5 and No. 6 spots with 60 and 50 points, respectively. Finishing out the poll was Curry (32 points), Salve Regina (30 points), University of New England (26 points), and Eastern Nazarene (19 points).
The Gulls open the season on Friday, Sept. 1 at 7 p.m. when MIT travels to Hempstead Stadium for the North Shore Invitational.
