BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott men's soccer team was handed a 2-0 loss by Connecticut College on Friday night at Hempstead Stadium.
The Camels struck first at the 40:57 mark when Manny Balbontin (New York, N.Y.) scored his first of the season with help from Justin Miranda (Winchester, Mass.).
With 17 seconds remaining in the first frame, Balbontin was assisted once again by Miranda to make the score 2-0 in favor of Connecticut College.
The Gulls saw a few great chances on headers from Evan Couchot (Mason, Ohio) and Ryan Cohane (Easton, Conn.) in the second half of the game but were not able to find the back of the net.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Will Manuel (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) recorded one save during the contest and shifted to 4-2-3 on the season.
- The Gulls held the 10-8 shot advantage.
- E. Couchot led the offense with four shots.
FOR THE FOES
- A.J. Marcucci (West Chester, Pa.) improved to 9-1-2 on the season and made three saves.
- Matt Butera (Westfield, Mass.), Ben Manoogian (Peabody, Mass.), and Balbontin paced the offense with two shots each.
WHAT'S NEXT
Endicott (7-3-3, 3-0-2 CCC) travels to Curry for a conference matchup on Saturday, October 14 at 11 a.m. Connecticut College (9-1-3, 4-1-3 NESCAC) hosts Bowdoin for a 2 p.m. contest on Saturday, October 21.
