Men's Lacrosse Overpowers Gordon, 22-4

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott men's lacrosse team defeated cross-town rival Gordon, 22-4, in both teams' Conference of New England (CNE) regular season finale on Wednesday afternoon at Hempstead Stadium.

The Gulls led 9-0 at the end of the first quarter and cruised the rest of the way as they didn't allow a goal until the fourth quarter.

Cam Fernandez (Mendham, N.J.) and Nick Graap (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) both scored four goals for the Gulls. Fernandez also had seven assists and finished the contest with 11 points.

Matt Wright (Oregon City, Ore.) recorded a hat-trick as Kyle Ando (Marlborough, Mass.) and Ethan Cupples (Marshfield, Mass.) both found the back of the net twice.

Shane Dean (Briarcliff Manor, N.Y.)Donovan Devellis (Norfolk, Mass.)Guerin Favreau (Woodstock Valley, Conn.)Jack Fiorillo (Mineola, N.Y.)Dillon Moriarty (Buffalo, N.Y.), Curtis Redd (Amherst, N.H.), and Tommy Tyksinski (Guilderland, N.Y.) all tallied one goal.

In goal, Teagan Alexander (Foxboro, Mass.) made five saves in the first half as his record improves to 5-2 this season. Christopher Tillotson (Monroe, Conn.), Zachary Licavoli (East Setauket, N.Y.), and Gio Panicola (Long Beach, N.Y.) all closed out the game in the second half, as they made seven saves collectively.

At the faceoff "X", Thomas Barker (Needham, Mass.) finished the game going 13-18 with nine ground balls, while Travis Foster (Lyman, Maine) went 8-10 with six ground balls.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • The Gulls are now 30-5 all-time against Gordon.
  • For the third consecutive season, Endicott finished the regular season undefeated in conference play (23-0 during that span).
  • Dean scored his first career goal.
  • Fernandez recorded his first-ever double-digit point game and is now tied seventh all-time for most points in a game.
  • Jack Dagata (Branford, Conn.) tied his career high with four caused turnovers in the win.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (13-3, 8-0 CNE) enters the upcoming CNE tournament as the No. 1 seed and has earned a bye to the semifinals, which will take place on Wednesday, April 30 at home with the opponent and time to be determined. Gordon sees its season come to a close with a record of 1-11 and a CNE record of 0-8.
