BEVERLY, Mass. – The No. 20 Endicott men's lacrosse team fell to Colby, 8-7 (OT), in non-conference action on Sunday afternoon at Hempstead Stadium.
Cam Fernandez (Mendham, N.J.) and Tommy Tyksinski (Guilderland, N.Y.) both led the Gulls two goals apiece. Guerin Favreau (Woodstock Valley, Conn.), Jack Fiorillo (Mineola, N.Y.), and Nick Graap (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) all added solo tallies.
Defensively, the Gulls caused 15 turnovers as Teagan Alexander (Foxboro, Mass.), Matt Cawley (Westwood, Mass.), Jack Dagata (Branford, Conn.), Nick DiSalvo (Narragansett, R.I.), and Jesse Woodill (Forestdale, Mass.) each caused two turnovers themselves.
In goal, both Alexander and Christopher Tillotson (Monroe, Conn.) both made eight saves as they each played one half.
After the Mules scored the first goal of the contest, Endicott responded with goals from Favreau, Grapp, and Fernandez to lead 3-1. Another Colby goal was matched by Fernandez's second goal. A Colby man-up tally cut the lead back to one heading to the second quarter.
Endicott would outscore the visitors 3-1 in the second behind scores from Tyksinski (2) and Fiorillo, as they led 7-4 heading to the break.
The Mules would then hold shut the Gulls out for the remainder of the contest, as they found the back of the net three times in the second half forcing the game to overtime.
In overtime, both teams had opportunities but Colby found the winner with 1:40 to play in the extra period.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Colby remains undefeated versus the Gulls all-time (3-0).
- First overtime game for the Gulls since 3/3/23 (12-11, W vs Conn. College)
- Season-high saves for Alexander.
- Favreau's goal gave him 100 points for his career.
