Barker and Fernandez Repeat As CNE Weekly Award Winners

BEVERLY, Mass. — Two members of the Endicott men's lacrosse team have earned Conference of New England (CNE) weekly awards, as announced by the league office on Monday.

Thomas Barker (Needham, Mass.) and Cam Fernandez (Mendham, N.J.) collected Specialist of the Week and Offensive Player of the Week honors, respectively.


THOMAS BARKER

Barker went 82% at the center "X" this week for Endicott in a 2-0 week, going 36-44. The senior added a team-high 26 ground balls.

In the Gulls' 30-4 win over Nichols, the Needham, Mass. native went 17-23, facing off with 13 ground balls. He scored a goal and had an assist in the first half as Endicott built a 20-3 halftime lead.

Then, in a rematch of last season's championship game, Barker went 19-21 at the "X" with 13 ground balls again. The senior went 7-8 in the first quarter as Endicott built an 8-0 lead by the end of it and never looked back.

This is his 18th career Specialist of the Week award and fourth time this season.


CAM FERNANDEZ

Fernandez led Endicott's offense with 14 points during a 2-0 week, scoring seven goals and having seven assists. The senior recorded nine ground balls and three caused turnovers as well.

In Endicott's record-setting win over Nichols, Fernandez had two goals and four assists for six points while also tying a season-high with six ground balls. The senior added a caused turnover in the road win as well.

Followed up against WNE by tying his career high with eight points (five goals and three assists) in a game for the third time this season. Scooped up three ground balls and caused two turnovers as well.

This is Fernandez's fourth career Offensive Player of the Week award and his third this season.
