Men’s Lacrosse Upends UNE, 27-5

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott men's lacrosse team defeated the University of New England (UNE), 27-5, on Wednesday night in Conference of New England (CNE) action at Hempstead Stadium.

Cam Fernandez (Mendham, N.J.) highlighted the offense, which featured 15 different scorers, with four goals and four assists. All three of his scoring totals were game-highs. 

Tommy Tyksinski (Guilderland, N.Y.) contributed three goals and two assists in the victory, while Jack Matthews (Ayer, Mass.), Guerin Favreau (Woodstock Valley, Conn.), Colt Green (Honeoye Falls, N.Y.), Derek Thompson (Avon, Conn.), Jack Fiorillo (Mineola, N.Y.), Matt Wright (Oregon City, Ore.), and Curtis Redd (Amherst, N.H.) all found the back of the net twice. 

Endicott also received solo tallies from Thomas Barker (Needham, Mass.), Brody MacDonald (Hanson, Mass.), Tyler Williams (Tigard, Ore.), Ben Merena (Middleton, Mass.), Donovan Devellis (Norfolk, Mass.), and Travis Foster (Lyman, Maine)

In goal, Teagan Alexander (Foxboro, Mass.) stopped three shots in 30 minutes of action to earn his first win in an Endicott uniform.

Christopher Tillotson (Monroe, Conn.) and Zachary Licavoli (East Setauket, N.Y.) finished off the third (three saves) and fourth (two saves) quarters, respectively.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott is 31-2 all-time against UNE (12 straight wins, 17-0 at home).
  • Second-most goals scored in the series (29-8, win, 4/11/1998).
  • Barker dominated at the faceoff X, going 17-19 (.895, best percentage this season, min. 15 attempts).
  • The Gulls improved to 4-1 at home this season.
  • Wyatt Iantosca (Hopkinton, Mass.) notched three caused turnovers (career-high).
  • Fernandez dished out a career-high four assists (tied career-high for points).

Endicott (5-3, 1-0 CNE) visits Hartford on Saturday, March 29 at 12 PM. UNE (5-5, 0-1 CNE) hosts Western New England this Saturday at 4 PM.
