York (Pa.) Bests Men's Lacrosse, 13-10

YORK, Pa. —The Endicott men's lacrosse team was defeated by York (Pa.), 13-10, in non-conference action on Sunday afternoon at Kinsley Field.

Nick Graap (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) led the Gulls with three goals while Guerin Favreau (Woodstock Valley, Conn.) registered two tallies and an assist for three points.

Cam Fernandez (Mendham, N.J.)Jack Fiorillo (Mineola, N.Y.)Jackson Hammersley (Lynnfield, Mass.)Tommy Tyksinski (Guilderland, N.Y.), and Matt Wright (Oregon City, Ore.) all found the back of the net once. Wright also finished with two assists tying him with Favreau and Graap for a team-high three points.

As a team, the Gulls caused eight turnovers as all eight were caused by different defenders. In goal, Christopher Tillotson (Monroe, Conn.) and Teagan Alexander (Foxboro, Mass.) split halves as Tillotson made six saves in the first half, while Alexander recorded 10 in the second. Thomas Barker (Needham, Mass.) led Endicott with 11 ground balls and went 16-26 at the faceoff "X".

Endicott got off to a fast start in the contest, leading 5-3 after the first quarter thanks to two goals from Favreau along with Graap, Tyksinski, and Wright all finding the back of the net. The Spartans kept Endicott off the scorboard in the second quarter thanks to four saves as they took a 7-5 advantage to the halftime break.

York (Pa.) scored the next two in the third quarter pushing their lead to four before Graap ended Endicott's nearly 27 minute-long scoreless streak. Graap scored again just seven seconds later following a Barker pinch-and-pop faceoff win led to easy transition as he found Graap at the right point and he buried his 16th goal of the season. 

Barker would also win the ensuing faceoff and eventually found Hammersley for a long-range strike to cut the Spartans lead to just one with 5:19 to play in the third quarter. York was able to tally another goal before the end of the quarter and take a 10-8 lead going to the final 15 minutes.

The Spartans pushed their lead back up to four in the fourth quarter as Fiorillo's goal stopped the run and cut the lead back to three. York answered right back with another tally before Fenandez score the final goal of the game as it finished 13-10.

Endicott (4-3) opens conference play when they host UNE on Wednesday, March 26 at 7 PM. York (Pa.) continues non-conference play as it hosts Grove City on Saturday, March 22 at 3 PM.
