WENHAM, Mass. — The Endicott field hockey team defeated Gordon College, 2-0, on Wednesday afternoon at the Brigham Athletic Complex.
After a scoreless first quarter, sophomore Sydney Poulin (Watertown, Mass.) notched her 13th goal of the season to make 1-0 at 19:00.
In the fourth frame senior captain, Julie Champigny (Acton, Mass.) scored her 8th goal of the season at 49:38 to make it 2-0.
Meanwhile, junior goaltender Taylor Farrin (Danvers, Mass.) made seven saves in net to improve to 15-4 on the season.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- With today's victory, the Gulls secured their second straight Commonwealth Coast Conference regular season championship.
- Tonight's shoutout was Farrin's fifth of the season.
- Poulin has now scored at least one goal in four of the last five games.
- Endicott did not lose a game in the month of October.
WHAT'S NEXT
Endicott (15-4, 11-0 CCC) will host Western New England on Saturday, November 1 at 1 PM as the team hosts senior day. Gordon (7-12, 3-8 CCC) travels to The University of New England on Saturday, November 2 at 1 PM.
