McCarthy Named To The Longstreth/NFHCA Division III All-America First Team

NFHCA DIVISION III ALL-AMERICAN RELEASE | ENDICOTT FIELD HOCKEY ALL-AMERICAN HISTORY 

BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott field hockey student-athlete Kristen McCarthy (Danvers, Mass.) was named to the Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III All-America First Team, as announced by the organization Wednesday morning.

McCarthy is now the first student-athlete in program history to earn NFHCA Division III All-American First Team honors twice.

The NFHCA New England East Division III Regional Player of the Year, McCarthy led the Gulls in every offensive scoring category in 2019 with 23 goals, 11 assists, and 57 points. She became the first student-athlete in program history to win Regional Player of the Year as well as the first player in program history to win back-to-back Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Offensive Player of the Year awards.

McCarthy also climbed the Endicott field hockey record books in 2019 as she became the fastest player in program history to reach 100 points, needing only 35 games to reach the mark. She is also the all-time leader in assists (28), second all-time in points (132) and in third in goals scored (52). McCarthy accomplished this in only 47 games as a Gull.

The All-CCC First Teamer was also named to the Synapse Sports All-America First Team which was announced by the organization on Tuesday.
