Why Endicott? Why Division III?

Julie chose Endicott because it had a fantastic elementary education program, a welcoming field hockey team with the opportunity to pursue the sport in college, and because it is 12 minutes away from her grandparents house.

Professional Aspirations

In 10 years, she aspires to be a successful elementary school teacher and coach high school sports and serve people in need during her summers. She completed internships serving as an assistant in a 3rd Grade Classroom at Mulready Elementary School Freshman Year and an assistant in a 6th Grade Classroom at Merriam Elementary School her Sophomore Year. She is doing her student teaching in a 3rd Grade Classroom at Hannah Elementary School this semester. 

Julie on her internship with Merriam Elementary School:

"My 6th-grade internship gave me a new found love for the higher grades of Elementary school." 

Clubs and Organizations

Played club field hockey with USA Futures Field Hockey, Endicott Campus Activities Board Spirits and Traditions Coordinator, SGA Senate, Wishmakers on Campus, Orientation Leader, Alternative Spring Break, Endicott College Christian Community, Gull Revolution, and Intramurals.

Community Service

In high school, she volunteered with St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church Youth Ministry Confirmation Peer Leader and served as a peer leader and mentor to confirmation candidates. She volunteered at the Lazarus House and served food at the soup kitchen, Spent time with her Miracle baseball league "buddy", and also volunteered at Acton Boxborough Community Education Field Hockey Camps to help with the clinics. She assisted in a third-grade classroom at Mulready Elementary in January 2017

Julie on a community service experience that stood out to her and why:

"Being a confirmation peer leader because it was one of my first leadership positions, and I got to really be there for kids."

Fun Facts

Her mother, Maura Champigny, played field hockey at Holy Cross. Her cousin, Maggie Bettez, plays field hockey at the University of Michigan. Her aunt, Erin Bettez, played field hockey at Harvard University. Julie is the fifth grandchild out of 20 on her mother's side of the family. Proud sister of two brothers (Michael and Connor). She is Bayview Hall's Senator.
