2019 Endicott Field Hockey Season Preview

BEVERLY, Mass. - The Endicott field hockey team opens up its 2019 season this Friday at Babson (2 PM). Here's a preview of the upcoming season.

FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW 

  • The Gulls, who enter this season as the reigning Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) tournament champions, return their top five point-getters from the 2018 season. 
  • Kristen McCarthy (Danvers, Mass.) was last year's CCC Co-Offensive Player of the Year as well as a Longstreth/NFCHA All-American. She led Endicott with 75 points on 29 goals and 17 assists.
  • Sophomore Sydney Poulin (Watertown, Mass.) received CCC Rookie of the Year honors and was named to the Longstreth/NFCHA All-Region first team. Poulin contributed 31 points to the squad last year via 10 goals and 11 assists.
  • The other top-five point-getters include Addi Williams (Pittsfield, Maine), who had 51 points (24g, 3a), Jaylin Grabau (Lynnfield, Mass.), who notched 33 points (14g, 5a), and Julie Champigny (Acton, Mass.) and her 19 points (9g, 1a) from last season.
  • Head Coach Jodi Cipolla enters year 13 with the program. During her tenure, the team has compiled a 161-68 overall record (.703), a 96-28 mark in CCC play (.774), and a 40-13 (.755) record at home over the last five years.
