Reid, Thornberg and McDermott among All-TCCC selections

Springfield, Mass. – \#Joanne Reid\# (Clarksville, Md.), \#Hannah Thornberg\# (Oakland, Maine), and \#Delia McDermott\# (Shaker Heights, Ohio) received All-TCCC Field Hockey recognition from The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) as it was announced today by Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye. Reid was a First Team selection for the second straight year while Thornberg and McDermott earned Second Team accolades.
Joanne Reid leads the Endicott offense with 18 of her 25 points coming against TCCC opponents. The senior midfielder tallied seven goals, including a game-winner in overtime against Gordon, and four assists in eight conference games this season. She finished tied for seventh in the TCCC for goals, assists, and points during the regular season.
Delia McDermott earns Second Team honors for the first time. The senior defender has been a fixture on the Endicott back line all season long, helping the Gulls post a 2.09 goals against average, the third best in the conference. McDermott started in all eight conference games despite a broken pinky finger.
Hannah Thornberg was named Second Team All-TCCC for the first time. The sophomore forward had five goals and an assist against league foes this season.
The TCCC also awarded Offensive Player of the Year to Samantha Escobar (NEC), Defensive Player of the Year to Bree Gerrior (NEC), Rookie of the Year to Hannah Tavella (UNE), Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year to Kaela Jalbert (WNEC) and Coach of the Year to Susan Murray (NEC).
The Blue and Green finished the regular season tied for fourth place in the TCCC with Western New England College and Gordon with a 4-4 conference record. Following tie-breaker rules, Endicott earns the \#5 seed and will travel to Western New England College for a 1:00 pm showdown in Springfield on Saturday, October 30.
