Cambridge, Mass. – The Endicott field hockey team took on NEWMAC opponent MIT in non-conference action on Tuesday evening and lost to the Engineers 4-0, dropping their 2010 record to 6-4 (1-1 TCCC). The Gulls got seven saves in the cage from sophomore \#Taylor Teixeira\# (Exeter, N.H.) but it was not enough to hold off the MIT offense.

At 22:21 in the first half, Engineers junior Kameron Klauber (Carlsbad, Calif.) was able to deflect a ball past Teixeira near the goal for the game’s first goal. Freshman Maddy Wharton (Swarthmore, Pa.) was credited with an assist on the play. Less than a minute later, Kimberly Barker (Camden, N.Y.) netted the second goal of the first half for MIT with an unassisted tally.

The second half saw Klauber score her second goal of the game as her shot deflected off an Endicott defender to make the score 3-0. In the 57th minute, freshman Molly Duffy (New Providence, N.J.) capped off the scoring with an unassisted goal and the Engineers went on to win 4-0.

Gulls senior \#Joanne Reid\# (Clarksville, Md.) and junior \#Alexandra Parese\# (Wilton, Conn.) led Endicott with four and two shots, respectively. Each had a shot on goal.

MIT goalie Keri Dixon (Bethlehe, Pa.) earned the shutout win after making three saves and helped her team to a 9-1 (2-0 NEWMAC) mark.

Endicott next hosts TCCC rival Salve Regina as part of Homecoming Weekend on Friday, October 1 at 5:00 pm.
