BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott celebrated the career of two senior members of the women's tennis team and then got an important point from the tandem of them at the third doubles position to edge Emerson 5-4 on Saturday afternoon at the South Campus Courts.

Gina Pinciaro (Beverly, Mass.) and Rachel Fenstermaker (Somerset, Mass.), playing in one of their last home matches as a Gull, paired up to win 8-4 at third doubles, helping Endicott jump out to a 2-1 lead after doubles play.

Fenstermaker also won easily at sixth singles, blanking her opponent, sophomore Emi Soda (Dallas, Tx.) 6-0, 6-0.

Sophomore Amy Heacox (Marion, Mass.) and freshman Brittany Potter (Bedford, N.H.) took down a second doubles victory with an 8-5 score, while Emerson's junior pair of Savannah Mosser (Malibu, Calif.) and Lacey Russell (Roswell, Ga.) won an 8-3 decision at first doubles over Endicott's Chrissy Martel (Westbrook, Conn.) and Natalie Egbert (Gorham, Maine).

Egbert bounced back, winning 6-1, 6-3 at third singles and Heacox came through with a 6-4, 6-2 win at the fourth spot, and Endicott had the three singles points they needed to decide the match in their favor.

Russell and Mosser got the better of the Gulls again in the top two singles spots. Russell defeated Emilie Cloutier (Lewiston, Maine) 6-1, 6-2 at the top spot, while Mosser took her second victory of the day over Martel, 6-1, 6-0.

The Gulls continue a splendid fall season, improving their overall record to 12-2. The Gulls have already clinched a spot in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) semifinals, which will take place on Wednesday when #2 Endicott hosts #3 Roger Williams at 2:00 pm.

Endicott will play one more tune-up match on Monday, a 3:30 pm home date with Springfield.

Emerson completes their fall season with a record of 7-4 and will prepare for the GNAC tournament, with a 6-2 conference record.
