BEVERLY, Mass. - In their first match against a CCC opponent, the Endicott women's tennis team was near perfect in a 9-0 shutout over Western New England in what was also the team's home opener.

Endicott improved to 3-1 (1-0 CCC) on the year and will travel to Plymouth State on Tuesday, September 11th for a 4:00 pm match with the Panthers.  Western New England, playing in their first match of the season, fell to 0-1.

Doubles action saw the Gulls lose just one point overall as sophomores Natalie Egbert (Gorham, Maine) and Chrissy Martel (Westbrook, Conn.) take the top flight 8-1 before 8-0 shutouts by the duos of Gina Pinciaro (Beverly, Mass.)/Emilie Cloutier (Lewiston, Maine) and Amy Heacox (Marion, Mass.)/Brittany Potter (Bedford, N.H.).

Cloutier, Martel, Egbert, Heacox, and Pinciaro all handled their singles one through five opponents in straight sets before senior Rachel Fenstermaker (Somerset, Mass.) capped off singles play with a 6-2, 6-0 defeat over her Golden Bears counterpart.
