Women's Lacrosse Defeats Framingham State, 14-10

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's lacrosse team bested Framingham State, 14-10, on Friday afternoon in non-conference action at Hempstead Stadium. 

Katie Schenk (Southbury, Conn.) highlighted the Gulls via a game-high three tallies, six draw controls, one ground ball, and a caused turnover.

Endicott also received a pair of tallies from Alex Palermo (Reading, Mass.) and Carly Pierce (Exeter, N.H.), while Clare Wendell (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.), Bailey Sheehan (Pomfret, Conn.), Gilly Hartt (Old Saybrook, Conn.), Jennifer McLaughlin (Westford, Mass.), Mia Smith (Portsmouth, N.H.), and Katy Garvin (Mansfield, Mass.) all notched solo strikes via in the victory. 

Defensively, Matilda Darrah (Dover, N.H.) forced four turnovers and scooped a career-high five ground balls. 

In goal, Lydia Akins (Edina, Minn.) stopped 11 shots to secure her second win of the season (16th career win). 

BEYOND THE BOX 

  • Endicott improves to 2-0 all-time versus Framingham State.
  • Wendell scored the first goal of her collegiate career. 
  • The Gulls got off to a quick 4-0 start and never trailed the rest of the way.
  • McLaughlin, Sheehan, and Hart scored netted their first tallies of the season. 
  • Akins has recorded double-digit saves six times in her collegiate career.

Endicott (2-0) travels to MIT on Wednesday, March 8 at 5 PM. Framingham State 1-2 hosts Wheaton (Mass.) on Wednesday, March 8 at 4:30 PM.
