BEVERLY, Mass. — The No. 12 Endicott women's ice hockey team defeated Suffolk, 3-1, on Saturday evening in the Conference of New England (CNE) Tournament semifinal round at Raymond J. Bourque Arena.
Samantha Fantasia (Billerica, Mass.) highlighted the Gulls with a pair of tallies (7th career multi-goal game) and one assist in the victory.
Fantasia opened the scoring at 9:46 of the first — stuffing home a rebound through the five-hole — and buried a one-timer in the slot at 5:47 of the second to give the hosts a 3-1 lead.
The senior forward also had the primary assist on Endicott's second goal of the contest.
Fantasia slipped a puck from the bench side boards behind Suffolk's defense to Rivers Morris (Braintree, Mass.) in stride and the right winger took care of the rest, potting her own second-chance opportunity off the rush just 53 seconds into the period.
In goal, Lauren Ferrari (Bridgewater, N.J.) made 24 saves in her first career playoff start (8-1-1 career).
