Fantasia’s Hat-Trick Powers Gulls Past Norwich, 4-0

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott senior forward Samantha Fantasia (Billerica, Mass.) notched her first career hat-trick to lead the Gulls past Norwich, 4-0, in non-conference action on Tuesday evening at Raymond J. Bourque Arena.

Fantasia potted one goal in each period (18:27, 1:07, 1:39) to become the seventh student-athlete in program history to record a hat-trick.

The Gulls also saw Jess Burwell (Hooksett, N.H.) wrist home her sixth career goal midway through the third period (10:21) via a slick cross-ice feed by Jo Wimler (Portland, Conn.).

In goal, Casey Moritz (Trophy Club, Texas) stopped 24 shots for her ninth career shutout (third this season).

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott won its second straight game in the all-time series (2-3-1 overall, 1-1-1 home).
  • The Gulls are undefeated at home this season (5-0-0).
  • Norwich was previously ranked No. 14 in the December 2 USCHO.com poll (receiving votes this week).
  • Lily Anderson (St. Paul, Minn.) and Cammi Ahern (Oswego, N.Y.) tallied assists on all three of Fantasia's goals; Anderson collected her second multi-assist game of the season, while Ahern picked up her first of the 2024-25 campaign.
  • Anderson tied her career-high for assists and Ahern set a new career high for helpers.
  • The Gulls have registered hat-tricks in back-to-back games: Maggie Lynch (Quincy, Mass.) vs. Johnson & Wales, 12/7/24.

Endicott (9-3-0) hosts No. 1 Middlebury on Friday, January 3 at 5 PM. Norwich (5-6-0) welcomes Amherst to Kreitzberg Arena on Sunday, January 5 at 3 PM.
