Women's Ice Hockey Tops St. Norbert, 3-0

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. — The Endicott women's ice hockey team defeated St. Norbert, 3-0, in the consolation game of the Panther/Cardinal Classic on Sunday afternoon at the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena.

Gracyn Kurrle (Middlesex, Vt.) got the Gulls on the board in the first period after Riley Perkins (Lakeville, Mass.) poked the puck away from a Green Knights defender and Kurrle was able to fire it home for a 1-0 lead.

With the 1-0 lead in the second period, Teaghan Hall (West Springfield, Mass.) doubled the Gulls lead just 2:25 into the second period off assists from Ella Rago (Westford, Mass.) and Joey Brown (Scituate, Mass.)Lily Anderson (St. Paul, Minn.) added a third tally in the contest as the sophomore took a long pass off the boards from Jenna Seibold (Reading, Mass.) with just 56 seconds to play in the second period.

The Gulls locked down St. Norbert in the third period and secured the 3-0 win.

In goal, Lauren Ferrari (Bridgewater, N.J.) made 26 saves and posted her first career shutout victory as the freshman's record improved to 2-0-0. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • First meeting all-time between the two programs.
  • Both teams were receiving votes in the most recent USCHO poll (St. Norbert leads all receiving votes teams with 29 points).
  • Kurrle's first career goal.
  • First career points for Brown and Perkins.
  • Anderson now has a point in four consecutive games and was named to the Panther/Cardinal Classic All-Tournament team. 

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (6-3-0) returns to conference action when they travel to Johnson & Wales on Friday, December 6 for a 7:40 PM faceoff. St. Norbert (8-2-0) travels to Trine University on Friday at 7 PM.
