Women's Ice Hockey Upends Johnson & Wales, 3-1

PAWTUCKET, R.I. – The Endicott women's ice hockey team defeated Johnson & Wales, 3-1, in Conference of New England (CNE) action on Friday night at Lynch Arena.

After trailing 1-0 after the first period, Lily Anderson (St. Paul, Minn.) knotted the game up at 1-1 less than a minute into the second period. The goal followed a takeaway by Samantha Fantasia (Billerica, Mass.) as she found Anderson in front of the goal as she potted her fourth goal of the season.

With the score still tied at 1 in the third period, Rivers Morris (Braintree, Mass.) gave the Gulls the lead off another feed from Fantasia. Fantasia then added a power-play tally with less than five minutes to play to secure the road victory.

In goal, Casey Moritz (Trophy Club, Texas.) made 12 saves in the victory as her record improves to 4-3-0 on the season. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott improves to 6-0-1 all-time versus Johnson & Wales.
  • Third consecutive game with a goal for Anderson. 
  • Fantasia's fifth career game with three or more points. 
  • 20th career win for Moritz.
