No. 1 Middlebury Tops Women's Ice Hockey, 4-2

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's ice hockey team fell to No. 1 Middlebury, 4-2, in non-conference action on Friday night at Raymond J. Bourque Arena.

Endicott jumped to an early 1-0 lead just 1:04 into the game as Rivers Morris (Braintree, Mass.) slotted home a rebound chance following a Teaghan Hall (West Springfield, Mass.) shot. The Panthers responded with three unanswered goals in the span of seven minutes and 11 seconds to take a 3-1 lead.

The Gulls added another tally late in the period as Lily Anderson (St. Paul, Minn.) beat the goalie to the far post after Cammi Ahern (Oswego, N.Y.) tipped Morris' shot attempt over to the sophomore.

The score would remain 3-2 throughout the second period as Endicott outshot the Panthers 10-5 in the period. The Gulls continued to push for an equalizer but were unable to pot a third goal before Middlebury scored an empty net goal with just 29 seconds to play.

In goal, Lauren Ferrari (Bridgewater, N.J.) made 31 saves including stopping several one-time opportunities to keep the deficit at one.
