DUDLEY, Mass. – The Endicott men’s tennis team saw their 2012 season come to an end on Wednesday afternoon with a 6-0 loss to the top seed in the CCC Tournament, Nichols, on the road.

Playing as the \#4 seed, the Gulls surged past Western New England 5-1 in the quarterfinals before running into the Bison who went undefeated in league competition this spring.  Endicott ends their 2012 campaign 10-12 overall after their fifth appearance in the conference semifinals over the past six seasons.

Nichols swept three competitive doubles matches to go up 3-0 early on.  Senior Porter Williams (Raleigh, N.C.) and freshman Mike Lauretano (Winchester, Mass.) were the first to drop their match, an 8-2 loss at \#3 doubles.  At the top doubles position, juniors Olivier Joggi (Stoneham, Mass.) and Jake Cohen (Barrington, R.I.) battled to an 8-5 defeat while in the second spot, junior Benjamin Randlett (Middlebury, Vt.) and freshman Eric Gandrup (Sudbury, Mass.) lost 8-4.

Needing only two points to win the match, Nichols took the first set of each singles contest and claimed wins at \#5 singles then \#3 singles first to advance into the CCC Championship for the second straight season.

Gulls freshman Justin Warshavsky (East Hartford, Conn.) and Williams both lost those respective matches by the same score 6-1, 6-2.  The \#6 singles match with freshman Tim Forance (Natick, Mass.) ended just 18 seconds after the \#3 singles match with a 6-1, 6-4 defeat.
