Endicott 9, Wentworth 0; Gulls even CCC record to 2-2

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott men’s tennis team defeated Wentworth 9-0 on Wednesday afternoon, sweeping each singles and doubles match against the Leopards to improve to 6-8 (2-2 CCC).  Wentworth dropped to 3-4 overall and 1-3 in conference matches. 
 
The Gulls first won all three doubles matches starting with the \#1 duo of Olivier Joggi (Stoneham, Mass.) and Jake Cohen (Barrington, R.I.) who handed the Leopards combination of Joe Centola (Hopkinton, Mass.) and Dylan Melnik (Wake Forest, N.C.) an 8-2 defeat.  Endicott also won \#2 doubles 8-0 behind the strong play of Ben Randlett (Middlebury, Vt.) and Eric Gandrup (Sudbury, Mass.).
 
In singles action, Joggi won in straight sets over Centola 6-3, 6-1 in the top flight followed by Porter Williams’ (Raleigh, N.C.) victory over Melnik 6-1, 6-2 in second singles.  Evan Ross (Worcester, Mass.), Cohen and Randlett won \#3, \#4, and \#5 singles in straight sets over their Wentworth opponents.
 
Endicott also won three doubles and six singles by Wentworth forfeit. 
 
The Gulls host CCC foe Western New England on Saturday, April 14th at 1:00 pm while Wentworth travels to Curry on Sunday for an 11:00 am league match.
