Endicott knocks off Colby-Sawyer 7-2 for third win of the season

NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Endicott men’s tennis team improved to 3-6 on the season after defeating non-conference rival Colby-Sawyer 7-2 on the road behind two doubles wins and five singles victories.

Junior Jake Cohen (Barrington, R.I.) earned two points in the match, one at \#1 doubles with freshman teammate Eric Gandrup (Sudbury, Mass.) by a score of 8-5 and the other at the \#3 singles position in straight sets (6-3, 6-0) over his Charger opponent. 

The Gulls dropped second doubles but the duo of Keller Dinan (Monterey, Mass.) and Andrew Zurheide (New London, N.H.) gave Endicott the 2-1 match advantage over Colby-Sawyer with an 8-5 triumph. 

In singles play, the Blue and Green took five out of six matches including a comeback win by \#1 singles junior Olivier Joggi (Stoneham, Mass.) who after dropping the first set 2-6, ran off set wins of 6-4 and 6-4 to earn the point.  Senior Porter Williams (Raleigh, N.C.) also grinded out his \#2 singles victory 6-3, 1-6, 7-5.

Along with Cohen, junior Benjamin Randlett (Middlebury, Vt.) and freshman Tim Forance (Natick, Mass.) also won in straight sets at the \#4 and \#5 singles positions, respectively.

Endicott begins conference play on Saturday, March 24th against CCC foe Salve Regina down in Newport, R.I.  The match starts at 1:00 pm.
