BEVERLY, Mass. – Competing in the first match of
the spring season, the Endicott men’s tennis team fell 9-0 to
Bentley at home despite a strong showing in the top two doubles
matches. The Gulls (1-3) move on to face five different
out-of-region opponents over the course of their spring break
tennis trip down at Hilton Head, South Carolina.
Bentley (5-0) who went 4-0 in their fall season, opened up their
spring schedule by failing to drop a single set in singles action
against the Gulls.
In \#1 doubles, Gulls junior captains Jake Cohen
(Barrington, R.I.) and Olivier Joggi (Stoneham,
Mass.) looked to earn a point early but their Falcon
opponents, Andrew Waddington (Granby, Conn.) and
Victor Suski (West Hartford, Conn.), held strong
for an 8-6 win.
The next doubles match saw junior Benjamin Randlett
(Middlebury, Vt.) team up with senior captain
Porter Williams (Raleigh, N.C.) at the \#2
position but the duo fell 8-5 to Rodrigo Ribeiro (Sao
Paulo, Brazil) and Raghav Tanna (Burlington,
Mass.).
Ribeiro, Waddington and Suski each earned singles victories at the
\#1, \#2 and \#5 spots, respectively, for Bentley.
