SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – For the second consecutive week,
Endicott junior Olivier Joggi (Stoneham, Mass.) has been selected
by the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) as the men’s
tennis player of the week. The awards were announced on Tuesday
afternoon by the conference office and commissioner Gregg M.
Kaye.
Joggi helped the Gulls to a 2-0 weekly record with convincing
victories over CCC opponents Gordon and Curry. He opened the week
with a two-set victory of 6-3 and 6-3 over Gordon at the \#1
singles position, and also secured a \#1 doubles victory of 8-2
when paired with Jake Cohen (Barrington, R.I.).
Joggi ended the week collecting another pair of wins from the \#1
position, with a tight two-set singles triumph of 7-5 and 6-3 over
Curry. He notched his second doubles victory of the week with Jake
Cohen as the duo took home an 8-1 win over the Colonels.
Joggi now totes an 8-6 record at first singles and a 5-2 record in
conference singles play. At doubles play, he is 9-7 overall,
playing all but one of his matches out of the first doubles
spot.
The Gulls have a 9-9 overall record this season and a 5-2 mark in
the CCC. They face a critical test Wednesday when they host
conference-leading Nichols College at 3:30 pm at South Campus
Courts. Endicott will also celebrate Senior Day Wednesday,
