BEVERLY, Mass. – After taking two out of three doubles matches, the Endicott men’s tennis team won the three, four, and five singles flights over Western New England to advance into the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Semifinals with a 5-1 victory.

The \#4 seeded Gulls (10-11) will meet the top seed in the tournament, Nichols (15-3), on Wednesday, May 2nd at 3:00 pm in Dudley, Massachusetts.  Western New England ended their season 7-9 overall.

The \#1 and \#2 doubles teams for Endicott earned two out of a possible three points at the end of doubles play.  Juniors Olivier Joggi (Stoneham, Mass.) and Jake Cohen (Barrington, R.I.) won 8-0 at the top flight followed by an 8-5 win by junior Benjamin Randlett (Middlebury, Vt.) and freshman Eric Gandrup (Sudbury, Mass.) at the \#2 position.

At \#3 doubles, Golden Bears senior JonPaul Ouellette (Bethlehem, Conn.) teamed up with freshman Peter Nassar (Longmeadow, Mass.) as they edged their Endicott opponents 9-7 to take a point.

In singles play, all Endicott players won their first sets and with the Gulls needing just three more points to secure the victory they saw senior Porter Williams (Raleigh, N.C.), Cohen, and freshman Tim Forance (Natick, Mass.) do just that.  Williams won in straight sets 6-4, 6-4 at \#3 singles followed by a 6-4, 6-1 win by Cohen at the two-spot and a 6-1, 6-0 triumph by Forance at six singles.

Endicott and Nichols faced off this past Wednesday in Beverly with the Bison taking a 6-3 win on the road.  These two teams met in last year’s conference semifinals with Nichols beating Endicott 5-2.
