BEVERLY, Mass. - Following a 3-0 week that saw the Gulls post victories over two regionally ranked teams in the most recent NEWVA Poll, the Endicott women's volleyball team saw Mackenzie Kennedy (Andover, Mass.) and Colleen McAvoy (Coventry, Conn.) earn Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Libero and Player of the Week honors, respectively.

For Kennedy, the Libero of the Week honor is her third in the four weeks that the CCC office has given the honor. The senior was outstanding in the three matches, anchoring an Endicott defense that held opponents to just a .155 average on the week. For the week, Kennedy averaged 6.42 digs/set without committing a single receive error. She started the week by posting 25 in the four set win over No. 13 Wheaton, before registering 31 in the 3-2 win over No. 9 Amherst, and finished with 21 in the three set sweep of Colby. Kennedy now leads the CCC in digs/set with 5.46, and total digs with 273.

McAvoy's Player of the Week nod is her second of the season. The sophomore hit an astounding .450 and led the Endicott attack by averaging 2.83 kills/set, 1.08 blocks/set, and 3.7 points/set on the week. The Coventry, Conn. native started the week with 14 kills, a .400 average and five blocks in the win over Wheaton before going for a season-high 17 kills on a .519 average with five blocks against Amherst. McAvoy also posted a season-best 21.5 points in the win over Amherst. The middle then finished the week with three kills on eight error-free attempts and three blocks in the sweep of Colby. For the season, she is averaging 2.56 kills/set, .77 blocks/set and is hitting .380.

The Gulls get CCC play underway this week with a trip to Dudley, Mass. to take on Nichols on Tuesday night at 7:00 PM before returning home to host rival Roger Williams on Saturday at 2:00 PM. The match against Roger Williams is part of Endicott's Homecoming and Family Weekend.
