BEVERLY, Mass. - In a battle between two of the top 15 teams in New England, the Endicott women's volleyball team swept Middlebury 3-0 on Saturday afternoon to improve to 12-5 overall on the season. The loss drops Middlebury to 8-4 overall.

After winning the first two sets to build a 2-0 lead over the Panthers, the No. 11 ranked team in the most recent NEWVA Coaches Poll, the fifth-ranked Gulls found themselves trailing 18-13 in the third. The hosts would then rally behind strong serving and smart hitting to out-score the visitors 12-5 the rest of the way to complete the 3-0 sweep.

Endicott out-hit Middlebury .280 to .185 as Colleen McAvoy (Coventry, Conn.) and Remi Quesnelle (Sudnerland, Mass.) each finished with 12 kills while Amanda Gilbert (Hopkinton, Mass.) finished with 11 of her own. McAvoy led all players with her .556 average (12-2-18), while Quesnelle and Gilbert finished hitting .364 and .281, respectively. Setter Zoey Gifford (Natick, Mass.) dished out 41 assists in the win, tying her for the 10th highest assist total in a three set match in program history.
