BEVERLY, Mass. - Behind an 18 kill performance from Remi Quesnelle (Sunderland, Mass.), the Endicott women's volleyball team defeated Emerson 3-1 on Tuesday in non-conference play after dropping the first 25-21 before winning the next three 25-18, 25-22 and 25-23. With the win, Endicott improves to 16-7 on the season while Emerson falls to 15-6.
Quesnelle's 18 kills came on 37 attempts while she committed just two errors on the night for a .432 average. The senior added eight digs and an ace to her performance. Fellow pins Meghan Frederick (Sunapee, N.H.) and Amanda Gilbert (Hopkinton, Mass.) also reached double-digit kill totals as they each finished with 11. Frederick's 11 kills came with just one error on 23 attempts as she finished just ahead of Quesnelle for the match-high with her .435 average. Gilbert's 11 kills were accompanied by her nine digs while Zoey Gifford (Natick, Mass.) finished with a match-high 53 assists to go with 15 digs for her 13th double-double of the season.
Defensively, libero Mackenzie Kennedy (Andover, Mass.) finished with a match-high 22 digs while Lauren McGrath (Franklin, Mass.) and Nichole Trudon (Coventry, Conn.) finished with 10 and eight, respectively.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Endicott improved to 5-1 against Emerson all-time as the Gulls have won the last five straight contests between the two programs.
- The Gulls held the slight edge in kills 61-59 and digs 88-78 over the Lions in the match.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Gulls will remain home for the rest of the week as they first play host to Wentworth on Thursday night at 7:00 PM for Endicott's Senior Day, before hosting Curry on Saturday. Emerson will return home to host Rivier on Thursday at 7:00 PM.
