Women’s Track & Field Receives USTFCCCA All-Academic Team Award

USTFCCCA RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott women's track and field program has been named to the 2022 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team list, as announced by the association on Wednesday.

Among the 150 schools honored by the USTFCCCA, Endicott ranked No. 18 overall in the country, No. 5 in New England, and No. 1 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) behind a program record 3.71 cumulative grade point average (GPA).

This is the team's fourth USTFCCCA All-Academic Team Award since the program began in 2018.

USTFCCCA All-Academic Team Award criteria:

  • Cumulative team GPA (not 2021-22 academic year, not semester) of all student-athletes who used a season of eligibility must be at least a 3.1 on a 4.0 scale through the most recent semester/quarter, computed by the following method:
  • Total the cumulative number of semester hours or quarter hours earned for all student-athletes who used a season of eligibility, including the most recent grading period;
  • Total the cumulative number of quality points (GPA multiplied by the number of credit hours) earned by all student-athletes who used a season of eligibility, including the most recent grading period;
  • Divide the cumulative number of quality points earned by the cumulative number of semester or quarter hours earned.
  • Institutions utilizing a different GPA scale than 4.0 then must convert the GPA to a 4.0 scale using the standard conversion method [GPA/Scale x 4.0]. Data must be certifiable by the institution's registrar.
  • Graduate students must take all undergraduate plus graduate coursework into account.

YEAR IN REVIEW

Endicott placed second overall at the CCC Championship behind 10 All-Conference performances to earn its highest ranking ever at the conference championship meet in the five-year history of the program.

The Gulls also won the CCC Team Sportsmanship Award for the fourth straight season (2018-19, 2021-22). Endicott is the only program in CCC Women's Track and Field history to earn the Team Sportsmanship Award, which comes with great pride as winning the award is a point of emphasis for the program.

At NCAA Regionals, the Gulls scored points for the first time in program history and broke two school records.
