Women’s Track & Field Posts Strong Showing In Season Opener

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Endicott women's track and field team posted 13 top-10 finishes and broke one school record at the J. Elmer Swanson Spring Classic, hosted by Wesleyan University, on Saturday evening.

Sarah Aylwin (Topsfield, Mass.) highlighted the Gulls with a school record performance in the long jump (fifth overall).

Aylwin's first jump of the day in the event yielded a mark of 16-feet and 3-inches, surpassing Giana Nekitopoulos' (West Springfield, Mass.) school record of 15-9 set on 4/20/2019.

Aylwin also ranked fourth overall in the pole vault clearing 8-feet and 8.25-inches (third all-time in program history).

OTHER ENDICOTT HIGHLIGHTS

  • Nicole D'Angelo (Readfield, Maine) finished second overall in the shot put with a toss of 37-feet and 0.25-inches.
  • Aylwin and D'Angelo also teamed up with Ava Esmay (Underhill, Vt.) and Kinneal Dickens (Merrimac, Mass.) in the 4x100-meter relay. The quartet placed fifth overall in 52.61-seconds (third all-time).
  • Riley Rischitelli (North Brookfield, Mass.) was fourth in the 400-meter dash (1:03.26, fourth all-time) and eighth in the 200-meter dash (27.86, sixth all-time).
  • Esmay clocked in at 17.56-seconds in the 100-meter hurdles (sixth overall).
  • In the high jump, Kate Sullivan (Northampton, Mass.) cleared a height of 4-feet and 10.25-inches for seventh place overall (second all-time), while Alexa Flewelling (Peabody, Mass.) ranked 10th overall (4-feet, 8.25-inches, fifth all-time).
  • Dickens finished seventh in the pole vault (7-feet, 2.50-inches) and triple jump (32-feet, 9.50-inches, second all-time). The school record in the triple jump is 32-feet, 11.25-inches (Nekitopoulos).
  • Kira Charrier (Dartmouth, Mass.) crossed the 400-meter finish line in 1:05.83 for seventh overall in the event.
  • D'Angelo concluded the Gulls' 13 top-10 finishes with a 10th place performance in the 100-meter dash (13.54, sixth all-time).
