Salem State Tops Women's Soccer, 2-1

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's soccer team fell to Salem State, 2-1, on Tuesday night at Hempstead Stadium.

The Gulls opened the scoring through Madeleine Cheney (Bow, N.H.) in the 29th minute, The Vikings then tied the game at one in the 39th minute, a score that would hold true through halftime.

From there, Salem State secured a 2-1 lead in the 54th minute and locked in defensively the rest of the way to secure the win.

Endicott (7-5) hosts Nichols College on Saturday, October 12 at 12 PM. Prior to Saturday's match, seniors Larissa Cade (Middlefield, Conn.), Catherine Elkas (Holden, Mass.), Brianna Knight (Andover, Mass.), Elizabeth Masucci (Norwell, Mass.), Hannah Merritt (West Hartford, Conn.), Hannah Pesci (Windham, N.H.), Claire Shields (Loudonville, N.Y.), Kayla Wentworth (Taunton, Mass.), and Cheney will all be honored for their contributions towards the women's soccer program and the Endicott community in a Senior Day ceremony.

Salem State (4-5-2) travels to Bridgewater State on Saturday, October 12 for a 12 PM contest.
