Elkas' Overtime Goal Lifts Endicott to 2-1 Win Over Clark

BEVERLY, Mass. - Catherine Elkas (Holden, Mass.) scored 2:26 into the first overtime period to lift Endicott to a 2-1 win over Clark on Saturday evening. The strike, her first of the season, lifted Endicott to 4-1 overall on the season, while Clark fell to 3-2.

Elkas made a run down the right win and lifted her shot into the upper-right corner to beat the Cougars' keeper after 90 minutes of play saw both teams score one goal each. 

The first Endicott goal was scored by Jaymie Caponigro (Swampscott, Mass.) just before the half when she buried a free-kick at the 43:41 mark. The goal was her third of the year and marked the second-straight match in which she has scored.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott finished the match with 12 shots, nine of which were on goal.
  • Kayla Wentworth (Taunton, Mass.) made eight saves in net to move to 4-1 on the season. 
  • All three goals scored in the contest tonight were unassisted.
  • Endicott is now 1-0-1 all-time against Clark after the first meeting last season ended in a 0-0 draw.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott travels to Wheaton (Mass.) on Wednesday afternoon for a 4:00 PM start. Clark travels to UMass Dartmouth on Tuesday at 7:00 PM.
