Wentworth Named CCC Defensive Player of the Week

BEVERLY, Mass. - After leading the Endicott women's soccer team to a 2-0-0 record on the week, goalkeeper Kayla Wentworth (Taunton, Mass.) has been named Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Defensive Player of the Week, as was announced by the conference office today.

In the first match of the week, the Gulls defeated the Blue of Wellesley 3-1, before then closing out the week with a dramatic 2-1 overtime win over Clark. For the week, Wentworth made nine saves in net, eight of which came against Clark. The senior averaged 0.99 goals against for the week and possessed a .818 save percentage. For the season, Wentworth is 4-1-0, and has a save percentage of .852 and a goals against average .79.

Wentworth and the Gulls travel to Wheaton (Mass.) on Wednesday for a 4:00 PM start before opening CCC play on Saturday with a trip to Newport, R.I. to take on Salve Regina at noon.
