WELLESLEY, Mass. - The Endicott women's soccer team defeated Wellesley on Tuesday afternoon by a final of 3-1. The win was the 200th at the helm of the Gulls for head coach Jodi Kenyon who is in her 14th season at Endicott.

After a scoreless first half that saw the Gulls out-shoot the Blue 13-5, Endicott's offense exploded for three second half goals in the final 45 minutes. Senior Larissa Cade (Middlefield, Conn.) scored her second of the season in the 51st minute as her unassisted strike put the Gulls up 1-0 on the road.

After the hosts tied the score at 1-1 in the 57th minute, the Gulls got goals from senior Hannah Pesci (Windham, N.H.) and Jaymie Caponigro (Swampscott, Mass.) in the final 25 minutes to finish off the 3-1 win. Pesci's tally, in the 68th minute, was assisted by Chloe Waldron (Harwinton, Conn.) while Caponigro was assisted by Catherine Elkas (Holden, Mass.) in the 80th minute.

Endicott's defense shut down the Wellesley attack for the large majority of the match, limiting the Blue to just two total shots on goal as keeper Kayla Wentworth (Taunton, Mass.) moved to 3-1 on the season.

Kenyon, who now owns a record of 200-75-29 (.706) at Endicott, has won five Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) titles during her illustrious career and has been named CCC Coach of the Year six times.
