Saturday will mark the Endicott women's soccer team's third straight trip to the NCAA Tournament appearance and fifth overall.
The Gulls wrapped up another stellar regular season (14-3-1 overall, 12-0-0 CCC) and CCC title to earn the automatic NCAA bid. Endicott will face Western Connecticut State University Saturday, November 12 at Wheaton College (1:30 pm).
Sophomore striker Paula McGinn (Lynn, MA/Lynn Classical) leads the team in goals (20) and points (45) and was named the CCC Player of the Year prior to Endicott's 2-0 CCC Title victory over Gordon College Saturday.
Endicott breezed through the CCC Tournament, allowing just one goal while posting 14. Goaltender Tina Loguidice (Hyde Park/F.D. Roosevelt) has enjoyed a stellar junior season, posting 11 shutouts with help from junior sweeper Staci Wiencko (Pembroke, MA/Notre Dame Academy) and senior fullback Katie Cederberg (Grafton, MA/Grafton), who was named the CCC Senior Scholar-Athlete.
Senior midfielder Jillian Zagura (Hudson, MA/Hudson) and junior forward Caitlin D'Amario (East Longmeadow, MA/East Longmeadow) have also sparked the offense. D'Amario has 12 goals and 29 points while Zagura posted 29 points on 10 goals.
Western Connecticut is making its fifth trip to the NCAA Tournament. The Colonials (14-2-2) are ranked first in the latest NSCAA Regional Poll.
West Conn fell to Keene State College in double overtime of the Little East Conference semifinals. The Colonials' only other loss came in the season opener versus Wheaton, who faces Worcester State Saturday prior to the Endicott/Western Conn contest in Norton.
Forward Nicole Corbin and midfielder Jessica Gomes lead the team in goals (11 each) and points (31 and 27, respectively). Kim Crayco has also contributed to the offense, netting seven goals while goalkeeper Ashley Griffin has four shutouts.
