HENNIKER, NH - The Endicott College women's soccer team scored four times in the first half en route to its fifth consecutive shutout and a 5-0 victory over New England College Tuesday afternoon in a CCC contest.
The Gulls' defense has been stifling all season and Tuesday's CCC matchup was no exception. The Pilgrims could not put one past goltender Tina Loguidice (Hyde Park, NY/F.D. Roosevelt). Endicott has allowed just one goal in CCC play (five overall) and the offense had the Gulls on the scoreboard early and often.
Paula McGinn (Lynn, MA/Lynn Classical) notched a hat trick, giving the sophomore striker a team-high 12 goals this season and Endicott a CCC-leading 40 goals in 10 games. The combination of offense and defense translated into the Gulls improving to 7-2-1 overall and 7-0-0 CCC.
Erica Hunt (Colchester, VT/Colchester) and Caitlin D'Amario (East Longmeadow, MA/East Longmeadow) added the other goals while D'Amario, Jillian Zagura (Hudson, MA/Hudson), Kim Shields (Pomfret, CT/Woodstock Academy) and Staci Wiencko (Pembroke, MA/Notre Dame Academy) each had an assist in the victory.
Endicott will put an eight-game unbeaten streak on the line Sunday when it travels to nationally ranked Bates (No. 18) of the ultra-competitive New England Small College Athletic Conference.
